Unless they get their act together in 24 hours, Obama's supposed to announce Chrysler's bankruptcy tomorrow. Also, LDV have applied for administration.

Good riddance to both of them! They both made awful cars(and vans) in recent years IMO. Only a matter of time before GM go the same way....

GM is to get rid of 1200-1500 low performing dealers in the US so as to save the ones who are making profit margins. Also on the agenda is to shut down the Pontiac brand and to sell or close Hummer.

I wouldn't think any ill feelings towards either company. I'd be more thinking of the factory workers and the rest of the teams who'll shortly be unemployed, and unable to secure work elsewhere.

What a flippent comment from Zonda. Yes their product of late hasnt been fantastic but to wish good riddance on them is just awful. Just because they are two foreign companies doesnt meen to say this wont land on our doorstep. People here in Ireland will loose jobs again because of this. Good riddance to you Zonda with that attitude. Tell me whats wrong with a Ford Transit engine wrapped in a new body with the longest warranty available in Ireland on a new van ( LDV Maxus ) or the previous generation E Class chassis and engine range in an uber cool body ( Chrysler 300C ). Think before you talk and just dismiss people so easy like that...

Well according to reports, Chrysler have been told to get into bed with FIAT in order to get government help.

FIAT will take 20-35% of Chrysler for nothing. It seems FIAT can walk away then pretty easily if it doesn't work out.

That's been on the cards for LDV for ages. I was in Birmingham a couple of months ago (LDV's one of the biggest employers there) and they were still talking about going into administration back then.
