Celtic, should be Neil Robertson there instead of The Jester from Leicester.

    Just testing :p

    (It's getting late you know)

BTW, I'm sticking in the Higgins camp.

Sticking with Murphy as I did on the earlier thread. No point backing him now, I should have got a price then.

This is turning into a great world championships, really enjoyable. What're you on about Ronnie O'Sullivan?

    Ronnie O'Sullivan?

    Who's he? :D

Think it'll be a Murphy v Higgins final, and I think Higgins would edge it. I think he's tasted blood in his last two matches and will go all the way.

Would be surprised not to see Murphy in the final with him - he looked very fluid in the bits I've seen of him the past few days.

    Hi,
would love to see a Robertson v Higgins final, it would have a bit of everything, Higgins has showed what he is made of in his last two matches,he has to be the hardest man to beat on the circuit.
Robertson definatly has the game, he has 3 ranking events to his name and plays an open attacking game, i like watching him play and would love to see him win it, however i think Higgins would be too strong and should go on to win his third title.

I reckon the winner of the Higgins V Allen match will win the championship!

Any sign of national pride? Surely, we should all be rowing behind Antrim's Mark Allen.

Unless someone steamrolls Higgins somehow, the title will be his.

He is the master of tight matches, and will outlast anyone at this stage of the tournament.

    I'm not a fan though.

Neither am I one of Murphy - comes across too smug for my liking.

Neither am I of Allen - always come across as embarrassingly over-confident since the year he lost 10-9 in the 1st round of this Championship to Stephen Hendry. Something very unlikeable about him for me.

So that leaves Robertson to root for I suppose. :p

Cant see past Higgins TBH. Hoping Robertson pulls it off though. Anyone but Murphy anyway

That would be a sad day for snooker I think. As of now Higgins is 6-2 up against Allen and I have to say its been the dullest match of the whole tournament so far. I do acknowledge Higgins is greatly skilled but my god is he dull to watch. Takes no risks, plays safe the minute he's hampered. Hes won at least 4 of these frames due to errors by Allen. In my opinion its old styles like this that are causing the declining ratings of this sport.

I hold Murphy very much in the same vain, very very talented, but astoundingly boring to watch. Very smug (unlike Higgins), very clinical style (like Higgins), no wow factor whatsoever.

Player of the latter stages has to be Roberston - a very contrasting style. Another natural, but likes to entertain. Fast, aggresive play, wont automatically rely on saftey if things get tight. Mark Allen also has been astounding, slthough looks a little jaded at this point. Selby is another stunning player, in fact the majority of players realise the importance of the entertainment factor in todays day and age with snooker.

Through no fault of their own, Higgins and Murphy just dont have what the game needs today, to bring in the numbers. There are probably 4 players on the tour that all fall into this level (in my own opinion) Higgins, Murphy, Dott, and Carter. All former champions (except Carter), but very very dull to watch.

Murphy seems to be the one who is improving round by round - is 8/11 good value to win semi??

I was impressed with the way Robertson finished the match last night

I'm going to be sick if Robvertson win it...I usually back him for the big tournaments and just never got a chance to do it...Usually about 20/1 or 22/1....After the first round he was cut so I did'nt bother!!!!!

I wud have to say bill worbinick will go all the way, unless kirk stevens can up his game ,i dont see him catching tony meo so it sets up for a very interesting final between Worbinick and Meo.

Of course, I cud be wrong...

...Worbinick might wilt under tony knowles fearless pressure

Higgins is a legend. I can't look past him to win the tournament. A second world title in three years would be incredible. His bottle is second to none and on peak form his level of play is almost untouchable (by anyone).

Would have to disagree with you re Murphy. While he may not have the wow factor he most definitely is not afraid to take on his shots. He's an extremely attacking player. Maybe not as gung ho as he used to be but still one of the most attacking on tour.

And I don't think Higgins is boring to watch at all. He's probably been involved in the two most exciting games of the tournament so far. I think that because his safety game is so good he gets labelled with the boring tag a bit too easily. But there you go, one mans trash is another mans treasure!

Agreed, I think Higgins is great to watch. A frame doesnt have to have a full clearance after a long pot from the break off to be enthralling. Personally I find the tight nitty gritty frames where each safety could potentially win or loose you the frame more enjoyable.

In today's game you have to have the right balance between break building, bottle and match play and Higgins has all these in measures, as does Selby. Selby has been compared to and even called "the new" Higgins many times yet you would hardly call him boring to watch would you?

Agreed Higgins is possibly the best match player in the world, have that feeling that he is just going to run away with this semi final, tough on mark allen, but i think he has finally run out of steam, beating ronnie and than ryan day seems to have taken a lot out of him where even winning his last two matches 13-12 higgins seems to be getting stronger.

Went with higgins in the other thread/poll so will stick with him now. He is 11-5 up though!
