Hows tricks,I've applied for an internship which only makes a nominal contribution to living, so in effect is unpaid. If I was to get it(famous last words) would my dole be stopped?I have seen something which stated that if you can prove that a course of development will lead to better employment opportunities then it may be possible to keep your benefit.Seeing as it's a publishing internship and I'm a freelance journalist(starting out) I'd imagine logic would dictate that it would give me better scope for permanent employment.

Jobseeker's Allowance is normally paid to people who are actively seeking and available for work - I've never heard about the course of development bit. Sounds like the Back to Work Education Allowance, but that has a bunch of criteria of its own.
