Does anybody know where I can find WW2 deactivated bullets etc, I have not had much luck online. I would especially like to find ss stamped casings.

one of the best places to find casings and enert ammo I find is www.specialistauctions.com ,on the militaria section you'll find alot of the stuff not sold on other sites hence the name, also another site in America would be this link http://www.gunsofliberty.com/gol_reenactors_ger_combos.htm

Also as your probably aware that buying these online may bring attension from Customs who may confiscate such items, just worth baring in mind.

Is it illegal to buy empty shell casings?

Theres another thread on here covering this, heres the link

In my view I think it shouldn't be an issue, after all these are only empty brass at the end of the day and how many thousands of empty cases are around already, still it would be worth checking with your local Guards or check it out on the Justice website covering firearms and ammo.
