    Mine that Bird wins at a shade over 50/1. Not exactly an easy pick.

    Interesting that he's a gelding, so not exactly a good result for the American Thoroughbred industry.
    As most here probably know geldings aren't allowed in the European Classics, 2YearOld GroupOnes, the James Palace Stakes or Arc De Triomphe.
    Reason being a combination of a) protecting the breeding industry b) the accepted fact that colts are more difficult to train, so gelding is considered a 'cheat' to an extent.

    Anyone know if the Americans have ever debated a similar rule?
