I just don't understand RTE at the weekends!

They advertise all week long on the saturday movie which begins usually around half five.....then they stop it at six for the news!!!! WHY?????????

There usually kids movies so do they really think a kid is gonna watch half an hour of a movie and then come back three quarters of an hour later after the news and weather to see the rest of the movie....

Am I alone in thinking this is just wrong??

I have come back to watch the rest of the movie in the past but it is annoying. That I do agree. But doesn't the Saturday evening movie begin at 6.30? Celebrity Bainisteoir is on at 5.30 IIRC.

I thought they usually have it on at half six generally. If they're going to be doing this then they should just move it over to RTE 2 then.

before celebrity bainisteoir started back it happened all the time, it was like their trying to fit their shows around the news. they show a bit of the film before the news so that its over in time to show winning streak so that thats over in time for the nine o'clock news!

    It just really annoyed me!!

Lads, simple solution here. It'll save ye a lot of grief and frustration. It's worked really well for me in the past actually. Want to know what it is??

I remember them interrupting Where Eagles Dare one afternoon with 15 minutes left. For Tellybingo. That was a few years ago, but don't think I've watched any film on RTE since.

Usually on a Thursday Night on RTÉ Two. Sometimes on RTÉ at the weekend for an Nuacht or a bank holiday.

Never seen it for "The Big Big Movie" which starts at 6:30 after the news.

ITV are also guilty of doing this.
