According to http://sky1.sky.com/24-slumdogs-anil-kapoor-to-appear-in-day-8 there is to be an eight season for 24 with Anil Kappor (Slumdog Millionaire) said to be cast in a "key role"

In an exciting anouncement for 24 fans, Bollywood legend Anil Kapoor has been cast in a key role for Day 8.

Kapoor - last seen as 'Prem Kumar,' the host of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire," in the Best Picture winning film "Slumdog Millionaire" - will allegedly be playing "a Middle Eastern leader who comes to the U.S. on a peacekeeping mission." Kapoor is one of India's most prominent leading men, with over 100 film and TV credits under his belt.

Will he be an ally to Jack Bauer? Anything can happen on "24"...

god i hated him, he was the one thing i didnt like about that film, would love to see someone like say michael cane play a bad guy, now that would be class,

could they go a season without useing third world countries at all, the treat is always by americans themselfs, we just have to listen to how evil african and arabs are for 18 hours, only to find americans are the worst of all, so can we just see a 24 where it concentrates on americans, i love this show but am finding it repetative,

why cant the irish attack america, develope your weapons here, no problem, our laws are just as lax as africas, just pay your corporation tax thats all we ask, :D

ya thats my point, they always start with arabs, africans or whatever, but it always turns out to be americans, so why not just start with that altogether, save 10 or 12 hours of what ends up useless info

Because the show is called "24" not "14" or "12"

If memory serves, series 1 started off with evil Americans, but then turned out to be Serbians(?) (Victor Drazen / Denis Hopper) - never judge a baddie by their cover :)

The 24 site on FOX.com currently shows the next episode as a 2 night, 4 hour season premiere, beginning Sunday 9/8c on January 17th [2010].

So yeah... only 8 months to wait 'til Day 8.

    I read somewhere that
Jack's granddaughter Teri is going to be in Day 8. Can't see what kind of role she would play as she is only supposed to be four years old in it. Unless she takes after her mom and gets kidnapped.

I can see it already - He comes to US on peackeeping mission, get assasinated by a group based in the US, then his followers plan attacks which Jack will have to thwart before finding out there is yet another corrupt government/fbi/whatever official behind it all..

Yawn is all I have to say..

Whatever the theories going around about what Day 8 is going to be about, I for one am not going to be taken in by anything the producers say this time.
Before other seasons they've been telling us they are going to "re-vamp" the format, change this that and the other thing and then the series starts and lo and behold, it's just the same as always.
So save it this time lads.
