I know that it used to be seen as "not the done thing" but I think thats changed now...some people still bring a change of clothes and bring it all into the locer room, some (like me) are often heading away straight afterwards and so just pop the shoes on.

As long as you are just changing shoes or putting on wet gear it shouldnt be an issue, just dont go mad and start changing your clothes etc out there.

Once you dont go banging your shoes at the car to get the grass off.

I do it all the time, although it is still frowned upon in the likes of Portmarnock (although so is being a lady golfer)

    +1

OP when you pay your green fee your entitled to use all of the clubs facilities (unless otherwise stated).

Most clubs have a place to clean your gear down at the end of a round.

Most have high pressure air machines.

Otherwise someone has to go around the car park cleaning up grass

I wouldnt agree with that. Some clubs dont want people changing anything in the car park and provide members and visitors changing rooms. As a member but especially as a guest, you should follow the rules of the club.

The who-cares do what you like attitude will end up with people having a beer while changing their socks on the bonnet. There will always be someone who will push it.

    Exactly!!

    Spot on there Green.

Allow t-shirts and next thing you would have guys wearing singlets on the course.

Has to be a bit of order.
