car keeps cutting out when going into reverse

ive an audi a4 b5 so far what ive done since the problem arose * gave it a full service * checked for vacuum leaks. didnt find any leaks but its possible there is one somewhere. where should i look? whats parts involved? just stops dead when coming from reverse into first. eg.. 3 point turn, parking etc...
