    This is currently for sale but i thought you might like to see it as it was originally when owned by my cousin back in the late 80s, i know how easy it is to get a convertible tub and replace the back end. first two pics as it is now and the last pic as it was originally.

    This is a 'trend' that we unfortunately see in other cars too, and mostly fuelled by the difference in price between a Coupe and a Convertible.

    Most notably the Mercedes W111 series Coupe (stacked headlight 220/250/280SE Coupe) was notably 'chopped' in the eighties to turn them into Convertibles, which would instantly DOUBLE them in value.

    Also when purchasing the good ole Morris Minor Tourer, you have to keep your wits about no to be landing yourself a 'converted convertible'

    i do recall that an owner after my cousin intended to get a convertible back end but whether the same car was used in the end i've no idea.
