Cannot connect Sony Vaio to Samsung TV

I'm having what appears to be a common problem connecting Sony Vaio laptops to my Samsung TV LE32A455C using the VGA port. Basically, my laptop detects a connection to the TV but the TV doesn't detect a signal.

I've googled this and it appears that the issue only happens with Sony Vaio laptops, other brands work fine.

Has anyone come across this issue and better still, have a resolution? There are conflicting solutions on the net so hard to figure out which ones work and which don't. Very annoying to be honest. Any solutions would be greatly appreciated.

What Hz & Resolution are you outputting?

My LE40A686 can't take 60Hz from my macbook pro, i have to set it to 59.9Hz to work

Thx.I seemed to have found a workaround. If you disable the auto monitor detect function in the VAIO Control Centre for displays and manually display to a monitor i.e. FN+F7, the issue is resolved. Thank goodness for that!
