    MP7's use EX battery packs which have a 500mA capacity. If you take a look at your charger you'll see the "output current" rating on the information sticker. Depending on the unit it'll give a different rating but it should read something like 250mA. The simple way to work it out is (and this works for all Ni-Cd and Ni-MH battery packs):

    Take the battery capacity, divide it by the output current of the charger. The result is the charge time in hours.

    For example, you packs are 500mA. If the charger says 250mA it's;

    500/250=2

    So the result is two hours charge time from dead.

    If the charger says 300mA, it would be as follows;

    500/300=1.67

    In this case you get a decimal amount of an hour. 0.5 would be 30 minutes, 0.25 would be 15 etc. The result of 1.67 is one hour and forty minutes.
    Again, these times are for a dead battery, so it may take a bit less unless you've discharged it.

    I'd recommend a smart charger, it makes things a lot easier using the provided adaptor. If you're charging a lot of EX packs, BOL do an excellent 4-pack charger. It'll charge all four packs in an hour flat and has auto cut-off. I got one ages ago for my MP7 and found it excellent.

    I have the TM MP7 myself, haven't charged it in ages but unless I'm mistaken the official charger supplied with the AEG has an auto shut off, so it stops charging when the battery is fully charged. Although it couldn't hurt to just keep an eye on it and disconnect it if it begins to become hot.

    If you already have a smart charger then this cheap Marui adapter will let you charge your MP7 batteries.

    The problem with the supplied wall charger is that it's rated for an input of 100V - not 110. With the 220/110 Volt converter, this gives an overcharge for the timed period, i.e. extra current is dissipated as heat, best to go by Dex's advise and get that BOL quad charger, that's what I'm doing - ta for the link.
