    In Tools > Account Settings click Add Account.
    1. For Account Name you can put in whatever you want (I have my email address).
    2. In Server Settings set the server to pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk and port 110. The rest of the settings I left at their default except I leave the messages on the server so I can access them on other computers.
    3. Then in Outgoing Server (SMTP) again give it any description you want, server name is smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk and port 25.
    4. Tick Use name and password and enter your Yahoo! user name without the @yahoo.ie/com/co.uk. I left the security at its default.
    5. See these pics for clarity. (Yes, I have 3 email accounts).

    Edit: It will ask you for your password the first time you try to send or receive mail.

    You got Yahoo Mail Plus? You gotta pay for pop3 access with Yahoo, free one hasn't got pop3

    There is a way though;

    So I've heard. But I don't have Yahoo! Mail Plus or at least I'm not paying for it if I do and I didn't have to use anything other than the information provided on Yahoo's Mail Settings page. I do have POP3 though and I have for several years. :confused:

    Edit: Just found my previous post on this point and the settings it gives are different to my post above. Try both I suppose. Here it is.

    Even microsoft have started giving pop3 access on their free accounts. Yahoo is a joke.

    flaps, thunderbird prompts you on how to set up a gmail account. Simply click new account, hit the gmail option and it will do the rest.

    Most collegemails from what i gather are crappy webmails, and dont support pop access(is that what you call it?).

    The UCC one doesnt anyway...
