Does anybody have any experience fitting wheel spacers.
What are the risks and what is the normal offset people use? 10/20/30mm?
    Cheers

Best to have wheels with the correct offset for your vehicle or very close. There isn't a generic one size fits all. If it is wheel spacers you mean and not Spigot rings, you just want them so the inside of the wheel clears brake calipers or bodywork, suspension parts without rubbing up against same or indeed protruding out of wheel arches. So I'd start with the smallest size and work from there. They increase the track so while they may stabilise things to a degree than bit more, they can also throw the steering.

Make sure if you fit them that they are hubcentric not universal spacers, I have seen 60mm spacers being used with no problems

+1 on the hubcentric (ie. they have a lip on them. Don't go near the ones that are just flat)

I fittred 15mm either side to my Golf last Sat. No problems yet.

I don't know how visible it is from photo's, but it's fairly visible. Suspension hadn't settle, photo was taken just after I dropped the jack.

    Hey limerick man,
They look nice. Wheels much closer to the edge of the arch. That's the effect Im looking for. Where did you get the spacers?

i recently fitted a set of 5mm spacers to the rear of my E90, just to step the rear wheels out slightly as they were being over shadowed by the rear arches.

    without rear spacers :

with th rear spacers (not a huge difference but just enough in the flesh to enhance the look)

Bought them privately. Haven't a clue where to get them, though. The ones I have are FK automotive and they're top notch.

Any chance it will affect handling in the wet ? (different ballgame i know) the kart lads go slightly narrower on the rear axle for the wet
