External hard drive ??

    Can anyone recommend an external hard drive to me thats economical and reliable and available over the counter in Galway?

    No such thing as a reliable external hard-drive. A hard-drive is the only real mechanical part left in the manufacture of computers and as a result is much more prone to failure. Couple this with something that moves about and gets a considerable amount of abuse and you are left with a very high failure rate. I would by two cheap ones then a expensive one.

    Just stick to the main brands such as Iomega and Maxtor. I bought a 500GB maxtor disk a few months ago and it's ticking over just fine. As the previous poster has said though, external disks are never that reliable.
