Girl I Love is Dating Somebody Else

In my early 30s and fell for my best girl friend - not sure how she felt but think there was something there adn she was waiting for me to make a move. I didn't - I was gutless and then on the day I was going to do it she tells me that she was seeing somebody before I even got a chance to say my piece. In fairness to her I said nothing but I am gutted, we have so much in common and still get on extremely well - we speak and meet regularly, I still get messages from her to say she misses me if I was away, or similar but this new relationship appears to be going well. I can't bring myself to ask too many questions but I would nearly write her off at this stage - she was single for over a year and I missed my chance, she really wanted to meet somebody. One thing I do know is if she becomes available again I will not delay in saying my piece. But I need to move on, need to clear my head because I think about it her all the time.

Anybody have a similar experience, advice?

IMHO to clear your head, youre going to need to get her out of your life. You can't grieve too long over what has happened or what you didn't do, not when there are lots of women out there you could be having a romantic relationship with. Having her in your life when you want more will just wreck your head.

Or, you could just ignore the new guy and just ask her out. Alls fair in love and war and then if it's a no go break off contact for the time being anyway. That's what I would do personally speaking.

The biggest lesson should be from this, strike while the iron is hot in future. Damn valuable lesson to learn too and if that's what she has taught you then she's given you one helluva gift.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

Did you post about this lately here?

Just ask her out before she gets too settled in the new relationship.
