It has been asked a thousand times, hence why it is in the sticky.

Why do you want to jailbreak it in the first place ?
I'm happy with mine running as normal.

The link to the iClarified site has all you need. The site has a load of tutorials, one of which explains how to Jailbreak. Once jailbroken, you can then unlock.

Once you Jailbreak, you will have the Cydia installer, that will allow you to install loads of other applications directly onto the phone, without iTunes. I don't have a list of applications, but I am sure Google will throw up a few lists.

It's probably because you still get all that apple has to offer, but you also get more than just what apple offers from their appstore....Jailbraking opens up a whole host of new options and applications that would not be available from the appstore (and I don't mean cracked apps). Choice is always a good thing.

Good post and well worded Mactard.

I can understand from that perspective why someone would want to jailbreak.
