I hope to complete a few classes in Cork within the year. Can anyone tell me about the city or any advice about studying in another country?

Well i'm sure you already know, but Ireland is expensive to live in. The thing right now though is that rents are going down so you'd likely find a nice enough room in a house with other people for around €280 a month. The city itself is nice. It's small but it has everything you need within a short distance of everything else.

It's a nice city to live in -- what we call a city here you'd probably describe as a town as it holds 380,00 people -- There is a lot of things to do for students as it has a University and several colleges in the city. We're well used to foreign students so don't worry about that aspect of it.
There are plenty of sports clubs, both in the Universities and outside them, libraries pubs, gyms, swimming pools.... etc etc

www.daft.ie is a good site for rental accomadation but you'd probably be better off contacting the UCC accomadations office as they may have people who specifically rent to foreign students.

I'll probably be mentoring 1st years next year (new UCC programme) so I'm presently in UCC as a student and went to CIT (Cork Institute of Technology) a couple of years ago so if you have any specific questions pm me and I'll try to answer.

No they'd call it a city in the US too. I've come across places in the States with only 10,000 people that are designated as 'cities'.
