Who did best out of the draft?

I was just reading up on all the selections taken in the draft and those who stockpiled picks for next year.
So who do you think done best out of the draft?

Personally I think the Jags had the most successful draft. We all knew they had big problems on their offensive line last year. They signed Tra Thomas in March, now they have added Eugene Monroe and Eben Britton. I think that brings them right up to the very top of the offensive line rankins next season.

Its clear they were badly in need of wide receivers also. They signed Tory Holt last week and have now added three WRs in the draft.
The second of these is Jarret Dillard who they got in round 5, a guy who broke records in college at Rice, he had a very good combine and is noted to have a great pair of hands. The question marks over him are his speed and size but its also noted that he has exceptional timing and a great ability to reach the ball at its high point. Expect to see him as a specialist returner on special teams also. I really like that pick.
The first receiver they took was Mike Thomas in the fourth round, he is 5'8" and is classified as a guy who will only be used in the slot due to his height. I don't know much about the guy but the NFL analysis page gives him a lot of positives.
One of the last guys taken in the draft was Tiquan Underwood. He was at Rutgers and was behind Kenny Britt in the rotation so did not see much time. He was apparently one of the fastest players at the combine but lacks upper body strength and a note on his analysis says that he is better taking the ball when facing the QB than over his shoulder but he has height and speed so he could be a work in progress.
At the end of all that though you just need one of these guys to work out and you have scored and its didn't cost a bundle. They have consistently had failures at WR and this seems like a smarter move to me. Take a chance on some promising guys and if two do make it you are all set.
They got Terence Knighton a nose tackle in the third round, a player who shot up the mock draft boards after his combine workout. Another big need covered and one I personally thought they would use their first pick for, I predicted Raji would go there.
They picked up Derek Cox, a corner from William and Mary(a div 1aa college) who we don't know much about, but they have done this before and have been very successful with dark horses like this, Rashean Mathis would be an obvious example. They also pick up Zach Miller, who was at the combine and is rated unbelieveable fast for his height 6'3" and is listed as a tight end and expected to be a work in progress but with this speed could be another risk for WR.
Overall though I feel they have improved their offensive line so much and as I've said if one of these receivers makes it then they have had a huge draft. Their running game is going to leave space downfield and I just feel that they could be a real force this season.

Now the Patriots did not pick anyone early and its clear the BB did not rate anybody that highly in this draft. In response to a question about rumours that they tried to move up in the draft he immediately responded 'for who', in a way that told you in no uncertain terms that he did not fancy anybody that highly. We picked up a couple of players who I think will be ready for next season. Patrick Chung for me is going to be huge for us, this is the type of player we have badly needed and looks like the perfect match for Brandon Merriweather. For me Rodney Harrison has been going downhill the last two seasons and we badly needed to get somebody in, the fact that BB was surprised that he was still available at 34 tells you just how highly he rates the guy.
I've done a rundown of our players elsewhere but we have picked up a couple of guys who can start next season in Chung and Butler. I think Brace was brought in to make sure we have cover in case we the contract talks don't go well with Vince Wilfork. Vollmer is the one that shocked us that early in the draft but to be fair the guy has a lot going for him and I like the pick for the simple reason that BB felt he had to take him that high to make sure he got him. I've also seen a video and he shows very quick feet and seems very agile for such a big guy.
We also picked up Tyrone McKenzie who seems to be to be a guy who will become an ILB. Bill gave this guy some endorsement as a person and its clear to me he really rates the guy. McKenzie could be anything but time will tell but I am really expecting that this guy will shine in time.
I don't know much about Myron Pryor and Darryl Richard bit neither at this stage look good enough to become starters.
Brandon Tate was predicted last year to be a possible first round pick but injuries put paid to that happening, it he works out we might have another real value pick here.
Rich Ohrnberger was a pick that Mayock loved and said that he believe he was ready to play in the NFL right now, that sounds good to me and hopefully we have another tartar here. He is listed as a guard but you just know that this guy will be turned into a tackle.
We also picked a projected Center in George Bussey who is listed as a tackle but is expected to become a center. We will see how it unfolds if he makes it.
We also picked up a long snapper in Jake Ingram who was considered the best one of these available and will provide good competition for that position. And lastly Julian Edelman who played QB in college and some consider as a WR prospect, but according to the NFL he might just be our wildcat guy.
Overall the Patriots did well in picking up some very promising players and not wasting cap room with big picks. We also managed to gain an extra two second round picks for next year which many consider is going to be one of the richest draft years in history.
The other draft that impressed me was the Titans, I am a huge fan of Kenny Britt and expect him to be one of the stars of this years draft class, they also pick up a very good DT in Marks, a well regarded tight end in Jared Cook and a versatile linebacker that I was hoping we might get in Gerald McRath.

They would be my top three in this years draft.

I liked the drafts of the Falcons and Packers. It's just based on my limited and subjective opinions of players and the needs of those teams. Looking ahead the team that had the best draft might well turn out to be one that people aren't paying much attention too.

The Pats draft is looking good because they loaded up on players and they did it in the money for value sweet zone, the second and third rounds.

well being a Jags fan im bound to say the Jags :D

but honestly they did have a very good draft for their needs. not only did they get the positions they needed, but they got backups for the positions they needed too which puts them in a pretty good position going into next season.

Isn't this thread about five years too soon?

Grade the 2005 draft. It's even too soon to do that.

In fairness dont think anyone grading here. I think what Eagle Eye is getting at who got the best Potential out of the draft.

Of course no one can say for definite who got the best draft class based on quality but what they can base it on is potential and college career.

Eagles and the Browns did pretty well I think.

Pats already have one eye on next year's draft which should be of significantly higher quality than this year's.

Seahawks gained Aaron Curry and an extra 1st round pick next year. Happy enough with that.

Jaguars got themselves a brand new O-Line so i cant complain about that at all

    My Colts;

Donald Brown= Hopefully he'll be a solid receiver out of the backfield for Manning, from what i've seen in videos of him since the draft, he can shake tackles well, and knows how to setup blockers. and hopefully he'll make defences at least not totally focus on Peyton by being able to go through the holes left by the pass-focused defences, good fantasy sleeper for next year i think.

Fili Moala= Again, from film, looks quick off the snap, but still verrrry stiff and doesnt have much pass rush tricks in his sleeve. We just need him to hold up against the run though. He's kinda one of those "mauler" type guys who cant really be judged on personal achievements or stats, but how his team goes, fingers crossed he's a solid starter for a few years

Jerraud Powers= Dont like this one, 3rd rounders havent been our strong point recently, and this one aint no different, oddly for a cover 2 D, he's not much of a tackler and doesnt get off blocks at all, and we already have a crowded DB line-up, i know we wont resign Marlin Jackson in 2010 (cap reasons) but Tim Jennings and Dante Hughes were both high picks in 07 so why not them?, 3rd rounders should fill needs really.

I like what the Eagles did in this draft, and it's a good way of showing that draft picks aren't just an entitlement, but currency.

One of their picks went towards Jason Peters, the purported best tackle in football with the much-sought chip on his shoulder after being kept in Buffalo against his will.

Another one got Jeremy Maclin, one of the top receivers.

And some more picks got Ellis Hobbs, a veteran corner off the Patriots.

For a team that, as the release of Dawkins showed, is pretty much at the crest of its wave and needs to do it NOW if it's going to do it at all, that's as good a draft as you can have right now.

Only liked the Jags draft insofar as it paves the way for them to draft a quarterback next year once the O-line excuse is gone for Garrard.

I really liked the Rams draft. It was un-flashy, but Jason Smith, Jason Laurinaitis, Darrell Scott are all players who can contribute now to making the team less terrible. The lack of receivers wasn't addressed, but hey, if you answer O-line, D-line and MLB for a few years, that leaves you free to pick up weapons (and a quarterback) in the near future.

Lions didn't impress me very much because of their failure to address LT and a pass rushing DE. However, the way things are working out I think the Lions might be intending to move to a 3-4 season after next. it looks like the Lions had a plan: Larry Foote will be a good pickup but not sure how suited he is to play MLB in a 4-3, not sure he has the lateral speed. They also have a chance to get Levi Jones who would be a great pickup if they could agree a contract based on playing time because he can get injured a lot. I wish they had taken a big guard though and there's still not pass rushing DE - they shouldn't have traded away the round 3 pick and instead should have taken Michael Johnson

LOVE this pick by the Pats. The Bears brought him in for a visit & I was hoping we'd end up with him. Thats 2 straight years the Pats have taken a QB i hoped the Bears would pursue
