A scrap metal dealer has been remanded in custody after reversing his vehicle onto a police car in Swansea.
Martin Richard Davies, 28, faces five charges, including attempting to inflict grievous bodily harm on Pc Greg Parry, following Tuesday's incident.
He also faces charges of driving with excess alcohol, dangerous driving and driving whilst disqualified.
Magistrates in the city remanded him in custody until 24 April when he will appear at Swansea Crown Court.
No pleas were taken and he spoke only to confirm his name, age and address.
The incident happened outside Siloh Chapel, on Siloh Road, Landore.
Mr Davies faces a fifth charge that when officers visited his home in the Penlan area of the city they found a quantity of cannabis resin which allegedly belonged to him.
Meanwhile police said they were continuing to investigate the incident.
They said Pc Parry, the driver of the silver BMW police car, was shaken but unhurt.
Another 28-year-old man, who was also arrested following the incident, has been bailed pending further inquires.
