pre hung door kits

    i am trying to source walnut shaker style pre hung doors at the moment.want too get a good product but at the right price as money is getting tight coming too the end of the build.wondering would i get a better deal up north:confused: and if so where

    I have no connection but have used www.doorkits.ie on a couple of occasions for prehung doorsets.

    Other companies who make them are:

    The Dublin Door Store/Carroll Joinery
    Embankment Joinery
    Essexford Joinery
    Fast Fit (wexford)

    Having fitted a great number of these prehung units, I would advise people to make sure you are getting good hardware with the doors.

    The last batch of solid white oak doors I hung where from Carrol Joinery.

    Top quality timber , but very cheap and nasty Basta hardware. With crude pure quality barrel hinges, Which ware very quickly dropping the door till it interferes with the frame.

    Also the rebated type frames only suit perfectly plumb walls. Which timber frame houses rarely have.

    I got mine from Louth Joinery, very good value, though the wood you are looking for sounds a bit more expensivea.

    Builder fitted them, easy as pie,
    cheaper than getting a man to hang them.
