On Sunday May 3rd we welcome one of Irelands most gifted and respected producers to join us at Dublin`s only roof-top party. Donnacha will be playing a DJ set with the Some Like It Deep residents +some of our friends!

Though Donnacha Costello first began producing music back in 1989, it wasn’t until late 2000 that he globally emerged as a truly remarkable producer. Long recognized as one of Dublin`s most talented producers, Costello may have began his musical career in 1989, but he first began to dabble in minimal electronic music around 1996 after completing his philosophy degree and immersing himself in the concepts of Steve Reich and John Cage.

afaik they have a roof cover they pull over if it rains.

yeah i was looking at some vids on net last night and he seems to be very minimally in most of them.

i'm gonna see him at sibin and maybe in at this on the sunday depending on what state i'm in and or the session i'm at is in

Donnacha is one of the most gifted electronic music producers Ireland
has ever produced....to write him off as just minimal! Well, very silly indeed....

I had heard his name before but actually I was not very familar with Donnacha Costello - but I just went and had a listen to his stuff and I knew quite a few of his tunes! Must have heard them on mix CD's etc as jeff said.

Jonny your link would not be to my taste at all, just to fast and 'noisey' for me. In fact I doubt there are many people who are into this stuff these days. I spend a fair bit of time looking for techno online and its rare i come across stuff like that.

Do it - I'm going to try to be there if i can persuade anyone else to come!
Will be great if the sun is out and so far the weather forecast looks good!
    Let me know

This thread is for the advertisement of Sunday`s roof-party with Donnacha Costello. A party which I am feeling very positive about, and looking forward to a great deal.

If anyone here feel`s that they have nothing better to do with their lives than argue about what music they like and dont like, why not copy and paste the following in to a new thread...

"Minimal?? Love it or hate it?"

Aaaah the internet. How I loath it so!

Was at this last week for the launch of the Roof Party and the venue is whopper, the residents are animal(barry greaves in particular was brilliant) and the whole buzz in the place is a little bit special.

Think we've all finally found our new home away from home for Sundays!!

    Cool! Can't wait for this!

Does it end at 9pm? Where does everyone go then?
