    Hey,

Looking for some advice here.... I have a Fiat Punto 2001 reg and the engine is gone, but the general car is in good knick, would it be worth scrapping or should I get a price to get it fixed altogether? Any advice greatly appreciated :p

An 8-year-old Punto would probably cost more for an engine replacement than to just get another one. What happened to it anyway?

When you say the engine is gone what does that mean exactly? Does it need a whole new engine?

No harm in getting a quote to get it fixed anyway...

This happened to me two years ago! Only had the car a few weeks when it happened!

I had a sporting version and two years ago it was worth something, now though, a 01 Punto would be worth very very little. I got mine fixed, got an engine from a scrapyard in Duleek and got a mechanic to fit in in Finglas. Cost me €1040 to get it done including the engine, then another 100 or whatever to get it serviced

If it's a basic model, then there's no point. if it's a Sporting or a HLX, then maybe it's worth fixing. You'd be better off finding something else for small money,

thanks for the messages, not sure exactly wats wrong, it wont turn over its suspected its the ignition lead or sumit along those lines and sumit wrong with the cam shaft, hopefully 2m will tell me more when the mechanic calls round, otherwise how would i go about scrapping it and would i get out for it e.g. the lights, seats, tyres etc etc

Put it on Ebay . you will sell it . I think when you scrap a car you have to pay .So put it down for a euro and you will sell it
