Just wondering if it's possible to get more mod options via the mobile ui. Like moving threads etc. They could be there already,I just can't find then.

I think the [X] button is too easy to click by mistake on the mobile theme.

more options is always good but don't overclutter the screen.

What does the [X] do, out of curiosity. Never clicked it :)

I personally would like to see http://pda.boards.ie to cater for those of us using large-screen devices which can handle more screen clutter and links.

Step 1-install opera. Step 2-click menu, click enter address, click options.click current address. Type www. Let your mod powers shine.
*may not work for all mods. Some ninja skills needed. T&c apply.

I'm assuming [X] is the soft delete button, but I've always paniced after hittig it and just closed the browser lol.

I'd love a PDA version too but I think we should work on one version at a time. Mobile version be nice to improve a couple of things on first before moving onto a PDA one though.

I'd love to know where this is in the list or prioirtys in general for Ross. I know he's a busy guy trying to keep everything running all the time before he even gets a chance to get into improvements and modifications though.

Step 3 - have your service provider screw you in the bum sans lube.

Just a thought is all. :)

[X] is soft delete. Handy for deleting spam threads quickly I guess.

It'd be nice to develop out the mobile stuff more, but I don't think there's any plans for it yet. Just a bandaid on the mobile wound.

Edit: 1.2 million page impressions last month according to google adsense though, not to be sniffed at :)

Page impressions, but how many posted long threads from their mobile.

I dunno about anyone else, but I find that my read/post ratio is far different when using my phone. I still consider www.boards.ie to be the full experience. m.boards.ie is merely a handy addition to the suite. I don't need any more fancy buttons or options spoiling it.

If I need to moderate something that bad, I'll find a pc, and if it needs to be done asap, soft-delete (and maybe a PM to the user) does the trick temporarily and then deal with it later.

That'd be my personal take on it too.

There seems to be a feeling in "the industry" that the web is moving entirely mobile, though I don't see it replacing the longtext format of the personal computer, simply augmenting it.

I really think the basic options such as locking a thread should be available. Sometimes deleting might not be a relevant option.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
