    I have a most annoying issue & I'm not making any headway in tracking down the culprit.

    If I click on a link, be it in an email or on a forum, it takes ages to open.

    I thought it might have to do with a dead shortcut/link on my Desktop but it doesn't appear to be?

    I've noticed too that pictures (i.e. Jpg's) are also taking an age to open.

    It's getting really annoying now!!!

    It could be a mismatch between file types and what application to use to open them.
    But probably just a lot of crap in the registry, download ccleaner and check it out. Pics

    Maybe I was too fast there, is the issue for browsing only?

    Yes it's any link to be opened via Browser.

    Try another browser on the same pages that have problems.
    Uninstall IE8 and reinstall it.

    How long have you had issues? Since installing it?

    I have tried Chrome & it has no problem.

    I have IE8 installed since it was released & have had no issues until yesterday, that's when this started to happen.
