Connecting Sky+ to HD LCD/Plasma(in different room)

    Hi,
I'm looking for advice on how to connect my sky box to my TV. The TV is in one room, and the Sky box is in a different (equipment room).
TV is HD (1080p). Not crazy about signing up to a HD pack from Sky unless there is good reason to. Obviously, I have one eye on possible future requirements. At the moment I have 2 x Coax & 1 x Cat5e running from TV point to the sky box position.
It seems that I may be a cable or two short, for an ideal solution... I do have an opportunity to run another cable (not easliy, but it can be done).
So now I'm trying to figure out what's best.
With the existing cables, it seems my options are limilted to:
    (1) using the RF out signal from the sky box.
    (2) running the composite signal + L&R audio (an IR remote signal) over the cat5e, using a couple of baluns at each end.
    (3) running the S-Video signal over the cat5e, and running audio over the coax's (I'd be short a return IR path for the remote)

There seems to be a view that in terms of video quality, the "RF out" option is worst, followed by the composite signal, followed by the S-Video option. Plus I think I'd be missing some non-viewable information with some or all of these options (not too sure).

Next options would appear to be:
    (4) Run an addition 5e, and use a pair of component or HDMI to cat5e(x2).
    (5) Run a HDMI cable from sky box to TV. (use a coax for a return IR path)

Quality on either would be good (I assume)... Though there is a cost element... a pair of component or HDMI to cat5e(x2) are costly, but distance is not an issue.
The distance involved is about 18m-20m, so a 20m HDMI cable should work OK, and probably cost a bit less than the baluns. Of course I'd need to get a HDMI interface on my sky box.... Which I guess means signing up to the HD pack for at least 12 months (€177)...Or is there a beter alternative or most cost efective way to get a HDMI interface.

Any advice on the relative qualities of each option would be appreciated...especially if you are using one of these solutions.
Of course, feel free to correct any of my assumptions.

is it a sky hd box you have?

Have you got a blu ray player? (cause you will need a hdmi cable for one as well)

you could get a Logitech 100 remote. control the whole lot through walls etc.

best thing to do is hook everything up to a hdmi equipped receiver and run 1 hdmi to the tv.

    John, thanks for you advice...
It's a new house, so there's nothing in place yet... but I hope to have it together by the end of this week, or next.
Probably will be a blu-ray in the final solution... so yes, a 2 or 3 to 1 switcher (HDMI) would be useful.
