    hi,
in the last week my toshiba satellite M30-832 has been giving me problems. the screen goes totally black for a second then back to normal, trying to watch a movie on it and it totally messes up the screen (lines all across the screen, nothing visable), and basically just doesn't look right anymore. anyone able to shed light on this?? i've had it a while and it does the job but is it on its last legs or is it something i can fix easily enough??

Try reinstalling the graphics drivers, if that don't fix it it could be a mixture of problems.
Graphic card fried, screen connection lose etc.
Doubt it's the screen itself, possibly a connector.

Run it on external monitor will tell if your card is fried. If ou can barely see images in the background when it goes dark it could be your backlight or backlight wiring.
