Hi just getting started in coarse fishing and was wondering about any good lakes driving distance from Dublin.

Have fished Rammor Lough in cavan the last few times(and enjoyed it).Is there any lakes wicklow direction?

Do you need a licence to do the fishing on the lakes? What about the rivers.

Please excuse all the questions but I am completely clueless:o

    Thanks in advance

The obvious one is Blessington Reservoir.

If you go further south in Wicklow, the geology is granite with acid ph streams and loughs, unsuitable for coarse fish, but good trout fishing country.
