    Hi guys,

Does anybody have any recommendations on some easy to use payroll software that I can use in my small business. I've been looking at my options and have to admit I'm extremely disappointed with what's out there:

payback nice interface, but for the life of me I can't get it to correctly work out the tax credits. I've imported my employee tax details using the details provided by revenue (from ROS). But it just gets stuck in there and takes way too much tax out. After exiting and restarting it now throws very strange software errors and I can't even see the data I put in there to test it.

thesaurus software, downloaded their setup.exe from their site, clicked it to run and all I get is mysql server installation. Not sure what's going on there, but not a good first impression, and couldn't even get to run the software.

Big Red Book: Download link says I'm bringing in Payroll 2007, date doesn't inspire confidence. Then I can't even create my own company to put in data. So time to take it off.

I've gotten spoiled with my accounts package, xero, which is web based and a really well thought out UI and was hoping I could find something like that to do payroll.

Any recommendations, or am I best to just outsource the job completely?

    Thanks,
    Adrian.

I've been using payback in the practice for the last two years for numerous clients and never had a moment's bother with it (touch wood ;))

Their support service is excellent if you have any issues - they'll certainly try and solve your problem:

    Hi,
I have been using Collsoft for a number of years now. I had very liitle experience in using any knid of payroll software and after an hour or two you can become a wizard!!
And whats even better is that you save over €700 in accountants fees by submitting your P30's yourself via ROS.
    Definetly worth taking a look.

Thanks for all the response guys, I've downloaded and got up and running with Collsoft. So it looks like that will be the solution of choice for the time being.

    Cheers,
    Adrian.
