    Hi All,

There are two "services" if thats the correct word associated with the Irish Multimarathon that are open to all people...

Roadshow - is a one hour powerpoint presentation on how to train smarter not harder - focusing on Running. This is given by myself based on being a Personal Trainer and Marathon/Ultra Running and Ironman experience. Its FREE and open to the public to come along. New runners in particular would pick up a lot here - (so i've been told)

(Can anyone suggest a venue in Dublin to have this where they know we can use it for free....? Need a place to have space for at least 50 chairs)

2nd is meet and train. First one is gonna happen this Thursday on Clontarf promenade at 7.30pm. Meet at the wind monument - its at the start of the promenade City end (near Alfie Byrne road) if you don't know where this is or what it looks like - its the picture on the website www.irishmultimarathon.com
This is real informal get together for a bit of craic and a chance to run the course (well...some of it). We'll have an ice breaker at the start....

    Eoin,
Are there any links between what you're doing and the ordinary athletics club structure? The Fit4Life groups that have sprung up all over the country seem to cover a lot of what your group is aiming to do and a normal running club would also provide much of the marathon training advice and support that the group you're pulling together does.

    Cheers,

    Mick.

    Mick,

There isn't a link but i would welcome a link... At the same token we are only a drop in the ocean towards the fit for life programme....

If any athletic club in Dublin (sorry can't do the travelling thing down the country) would like to host the Roadshow - I'd be delighted to do it. Again its a Freebie

In Wexford for example over 250 ppl attended the Half Marathon roadshow and walked away empowered to complete a Half Marathon. Thats a good result! The important point is that most of the people were new to running and not associated with clubs. Now they might be - I promoted the Wexford running clubs in the presentation

The feed back was very good. Be great if someone put a comment up that attended it... :o
