Tooth ache after Root canal

I was told by dentist that I needed either extraction or root canal. I went for root canal even though I'm struggling to afford it. I was booked for 3 appointments.

My first appointment was great. No pain at all and the following week was great. It felt strange not to have sensitivity on that side of the mouth.

I had my second last Thursday and I needed pain killers to sleep on Friday. I've had to take them now since then. Last night I took pain killers at midnight and I was woken up again at 5.20 with the pain.

It's sorer than it was before the root canal. Any idea if this is normal before the final appointment?

Doubt it sounds like an infection. Tell your dentist about it when you go back..

don't wait for your next appt. go see him/her tomorrow morning. pain can be due to a variety of things. the dentist can often relieve it easily.

I don't want to take any more time off work on short notice unless I have to because the last month has been a bit hectic for me.

All I needed to know is that there's most likely some problem with my tooth so thanks for the replies. I'll give them a ring tomorrow.
