A few very quick and dirtys :D delighted with it, super little car, pretty practical aswell! more than quick enough and i love the looks! auto box in sports mode with the flappy paddles is pretty good too,

The colour is lovely in the flesh, and the interior exterior combo works great.

Nice enough spec on it, most things except sat nav.

ive a few little jobs to do, i want to get a stubby aerial, fix some slight scuffing on the drivers bolster, give the exhast trim a proper polish, get it detailed and i think thats it!

one thing i have to ask the garage about is a small piece of lacquer overspray on the passenger wing, looks like a, bad, smart repair on a scratch but i just want to make sure it isnt anything more, im nearly sure it isnt tho!

oh and i realise the rear number plate is wonky

    here are pics

Thumbs up on the coupe (vs convertible) choice, looks fantastic. That colour is excellent too.

The more I look at it, the more I like it. I love the massive bonnet and tiny rear section, makes it almost look like a hot hatch, only nicer - and really gives the impression that the engine is monstrous.
You should replace the grill by the fog lights with chickenwire lookalike stuff to make it seem more sporty, then maybe an M sticker for the back with dual pipes on the right too? Like they could be fakes, just to be there.. And blackened windows, and some flames.. And Lasers, definitely lasers.
    Okay, I kid. :D

The only Beemer where the "flame grilled duck tail" Banglerized design actually works.

    Nice car !

Well wear, it's a smashing car. Have never seen one in that colour, it works really well. I don't agree with a lot of recent BMW design but I think they got the proportioning of the Z4c spot on. Let us know how you find it to drive as time goes . Enjoy!

Lovely car. I must admit when you first mentioned a Z4 I cringed, thinking of the cabrio. The coupe is so rare relative to it. But the difference is massive, the coupe is stunning.

So much more of a mans car than the cabrio!!

Lovely car Cyrus, we'll miss all the threads theorising which car you should buy next.

How does it compare to the M3?

Nice car, there's a documentry on discovery (I think) on how they build them, it's knocking about the internet too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,310 ✭✭✭Harcrid

Have to say when I first saw pics of it I was not too impressed but it is really growing on me now. I don't think I have ever seen one of these on Irish roads. Congrats and enjoy it!

its a lot different, you are very low to the ground, down a little on power, but the engine is a peach, very free revving and nice sound track, also give its weight, the 270bhp is plenty quick :)

Were you not tempted by the M Coupe?

    Stunner.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,473 ✭✭✭✭Cyrus

Wow didn't know it was packing 270 horses. Stunner.

Any tasteful modifcations planned at all Cyrus?

Everything about the car is to my liking except for those M Double spoke alloys. I'd start with changing them and maybe adding an Eisenmann exhaust. Everything else looks spot on to me.

only mods for the time being will be a stubby aerial, german plates and a full detail, ill look into new wheels at the end of the summer, im thinking csls for the win :D

Yeah I wasn't aware of the specifics of the engine either. 315NM (available from 2750rpm) is very impressive for a 3l N/A engine!

I'm going to ask the most boring question on here so far:

What kind of mpg does it return? I've read that it's not too bad on the juice.

Good choice, a very unique car on Irish roads.

+1 on the csl wheels too- definitely the best wheels for the Z4 Coupe. Here's a link to csl replicas in different colours, although I'm not sure if they ship to Ireland. I prefer the silver myself.

    That's savage economy...

I tried and tried with the M3 last week and best I could get was 30.1mpg :pac:

I thought the whole idea with a car like that was to get as little MPG as possible:D!!!

Jesus, that's steep!! 270bhp is plenty to deal with, especially with such a great chassis!

I really think the Z4 Coupe is going to be a classic in the near future, especially that they are only doing the folding roof on the new one...... :(

I took my Z4 Coupe to the UK last month and I when I filled up with Shell V Power (The 98 Octane UK version) and the range on the car said 670 km. I did a lot of motorway driving and to my surprise I did actually get 670 km between fillups. Not sure what that is in MPG though.

When I used to put in the Shell V Power here it only showed a range of 520 kms.
