Ireland started off their campaign today with a defeat by Worcestershire.

In a rain affectd match Ireland were chasing 181 to win in 33 overs but could only make 128/9

If you subtracted Porterfields score then it would have been closer! :)

Porterfield scored 74 playing for Gloucestershire against Surrey.

Its going to be difficult for the guys to do well in this competition now after the long WC Qualifying campaign and with the big players missing.

Its tough for the lads but its a good competition for Ireland. If we could stay competitive in most of our matches and win 1 or 2 you'd have to be happy.

    Who are we playing next?When?

Porterfields knock was class - was watching it live on SS1 - Id say he was annoyed not to pick up the MOM award but christ taylor hit a nice innings and took two special catches.

Well done young Stirling - maintained his composure when all around him crumbled.

froze me arse off at the game on sunday, very disappointing batting performance after a decent bowling display (particularly by kyle mccallan) and one superb run out by john mooney.
glad to see jeremy bray back in the squad, we just couldn't get the ball off the square in the first 10 overs - the required run rate went from a very gettable 5.5 to 8 or 9 after the first 10 overs where we only scored 12 runs so we were on the back foot then, fair play to worcs they bowled well - thought we were unlucky with 2 lbw decisions too the lads seemed to have gotten a decent stride in but the umpires seem to hate the reverse sweep and fingered them.
