It really depends on where you're thinking about playing and certain factors need to be addressed here.

    1) If you're planning on booking and promoting this gig yourself then you're going to have to look at the best venue that will be suited for your type of music and also a venue that will get a decent crowd in of a weeknight otherwise it may end up costing you money from your own pocket. It helps if the venue has a bar.

    2) If you're planning on headlining the gig yourself then make sure that you're well known and have a good range of songs to fill say a 45 minute - 1 hour set. If not then find a band who is well known and who will pull a crowd in.

    3) If you're organising the gig you may need to supply the backline i.e amps, drum kit etc
It helps if you play in a venue which has a house P.A or house drum kit to make things that little bit easier.

    4) Have a schedule for each band. For example make sure certain bands are there on time for their sound check and make sure they know in advance how long their set is.

    5) If you really want to earn a bit of money you'll have to promote it heavily and don't charge too much in as it is a weekday and if the price of admission is too high people will just not be interested.
My band has a gig organised for next Friday and we've estimated that in order to make at least €300 we have to have 75 people to be in there. We've charged admission for €5 on the night.

Bare in mind though that you have to pay the person who is working on the door taking the money. The person we have on the door is asking for €50.

If you are to organise a gig yourselves and it's your first time doing so just take into account that it's only difficult to organise if you make it difficult to organise it.
