Imagine Bob is under surveillance by the Garda, whether the suspicion is well grounded or not.

What if the Garda has placed bugs and/or tracking devices in Bobs home and car. If Bob finds these devices, what is he entitled to do with them? Let us assume that Bob isn't interested in confronting the Garda - maybe Bob hangs around with the wrong kind of people and understands why he is under surveillance.

well I'd assume that it's your house and without a court order/your knowledge your free to destroy/remove it at your will

but trust me my cousin is a det in the NSU,he drives around in a non-D reg banger with no sirens or toys in it- it's not all 007 stuff!

    (a) I don't live in a house, (b) I'm not under surveillance (c) I'm not Bob (d) this actually is a hypothetical situation.

Currently, he can dispose of them if found.

Would bob need to bring them to a WEEE centre? I never noticed the box for covert garda surveillance bugs but I'll check next time.

    Interesting question though.

It's customary to auction the bugs for charity:

Its potentially a breach of your privacy rights and/or false imprisonment. (too lazy explain unless you insist)
