Business opportunity with new sustainability initiative to be announced shortly

    Hi All,

I am seeking input from individuals for a new scheme we are putting together. Please note we are not a business so do not try and sell us anything.

We are the administration arm of the Greenloan.ie scheme and we have been asked to put together a sustainable home vegetable & fruit allotment scheme, provide training, finance and support package for a national launch.

We are now seeking input from homeowners and people interested in starting a new business on the back of the scheme. It has been estimated that at least 2000 new jobs/businesses could be created. As administrators, we have to design the structure to facilitate this and the feedback we have already got has been very positive; "so much so" that the scheme is now going ahead shortly.

The initiative is simply to create a business opportunity through the greenloan clustering system (www.greenloan.ie) which would deliver an end result of a significant culture change in home vegetable and fruit growing knowledge for the consumer versus imports. i.e. create jobs at home instead of importing so much food with the added benefit of saving money for the consumer. Recent CSO figures show that we spend 18% of our household budget on food (much of it on imports) and 12% on our mortgage.

Most "one off" houses have 3/4 acre of land but even patios can be used for food growing. Our job is to make this happen and we need you to help us make it the best initiative possible with only 2 weeks to go to launch.

We would apprieciate your suggestions, interest, inputs, etc from householders, business, etc. info@greenloan.ie

The details on the scheme pilot are on www.greenloan.ie and select the Greenloan Garden Allotment Scheme and let us know how it can be tailored to suit you.

If you are a supplier of products in this category, you can also send us your contact details and what you do as we will be listing all this information very shortly also.

    BUT BUT

We are very interested in hearing from people who think they would like to upskill / retrain into a sector where they would become a cluster leader and would operate this business model because their job is risky or they want to change direction or they have been made unemployed recently.

You WOULD be starting your own full-time business/part-time business/add-on business, all we can do is facilitate that with the cluster scheme and promote it, any training will be heavily subsidised. We have a significant gardening information portal integration which will be part of the scheme also.

Business start up costs are low, no premises are required and you can scale the business model to your own energy/commitment levels.

As any comments will be seen by the admin team, I would apprieciate that comments would be appropriate.

If you can make as many people aware of this consultation, we would be greatful, time is limited.

    Best Regards,
    Greenloan Administrator.
