Got your Co-Ords way off there Sharkman, you need to post Line stats, Provider and Any other info that might help. Not going to answer unless this is there, as per your :( sig.

Is this what you mean :

    Downstream Upstream
    Firewall Disabled
    Data Rate(Kbps)
    5120 512
    NAT Enabled
    Noise margin (dB)
    17.1 14.0
    UPnP Enabled
    Output power (dBm)
    1.8 19.3
    Attenuation (dB)
    40.0 24.0

You'll get a max of between 8 and 9 megs.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but would my stats indicate that I could recieve anything higher than 8MB. When my line maxs out it regularly goes passed 8MB and then settles down.

DSL Noise Margin: Down 6.3 dB / Up 22.0 dB
DSL Attenuation: Down 39.5 dB / Up 19.9 dB
DSL Transmit Power: Down 0.0 dBm / Up 12.6 dBm

You'd get about the same for that attenuation.

Ah, so no point in trying for anything higher than 8MB so.

I've got a Netgear Wireless ADSL Firewall Router DG834G

Where do I get these stats in it? I can't for the life of me find them.

    Thanks

Your noise margin is on the low side? Do you get frequent disconnects?

Look for attenuation or SNR/noise margin.

Last few days I've been getting a few, but not normally many.

The other important part is who is your ISP and is it a LLU exchange, Smart use ADSL2+ and can get far more out of your line than the other ISPs as they also sync you at a higher speed to allow for protocol overhead so you get the advertised speed if the line can take it.
