Depends what brands you have in mind, naturally diff shops stock diff brands and how far north you want to go!?

Slane Cycles in Andersonstown. Just off the M1 so handy to get to, good selection of products and nice people. Got my current road bike there and am very happy.

Looking for a Giant, either a flat bar racer or a drop bar one.Would be open to diff models but they seem well priced. Looking to pay sub 500sterling for myself and sub 350 for my partner.I live near the border and about about 35mins from Newry. Unless there is a better deal in the south of course!
looking on the net but takes for ever,so if anybody knows a good one..

Got an FCR from McConvey Cycles in Belfast last year. Saved a few hundred bills compared to Dublin prices. Prices in Dublin seem to have gotten a bit more competitive since, but there's still savings to be made.

    Great thanks for that
Was in a bike shop in Dublin there and the guy mentioned the cycle to work scheme. Perhaps it would make it better value to buy it through that scheme via a shop in the Republic ?

You don't need to buy a bike in the Republic to satisfy the conditions of the CTWS.

http://www.jmccycles.com/ it's near Meigh, never dealt with them though.

I bought a Giant FCR3 a couple of years ago from The Cycle Shop in Dundalk. Its on Clanbrassil St. It was 50-90 quid cheaper there than Dublin prices at the time.

You should find Giant bikes better priced on this side of the border as they have been reduced by 12.5% in the last few weeks.
