Driving Music

I was wondering, what exactly do people here listen to while driving, if anything specific, or just whatever happens to be on whatever radio station.

Myself, I find I tend to play music that 'charges', something with a bit of kick to it, Iron Maiden being a specific favourite, but also a mix of Deep Purple, some Black Sabbath and a few others thrown in for good measure.

Has anybody else found that their choice of music can influence their driving style? Speeding up to match the beat, getting a little more aggressive, or calming down and flowing with it if you're listening to say Air by Bach in a quieter moment?

Or do you just stick Newstalk on?

It's hard to beat 'Highway Star' and 'Paranoid' but I do think it makes me drive a little faster. 'Silver Machine' by Hawkwind is another great driving song.

For a more relaxing drive and to concentrate the mind, I have to admit I love Rachmaninov's second piano concerto.

A Big chunk of Guided by Voices will cover all driving conditions. Even breakdowns

I always have about 30 albums (CD) in car across a load of genres. I'll generally listen to full albums and will put on whatever I'm in the humour for. I occasionally us the radio for a specialist music show or talk radio if I feel like a change.

This reminds me - I've been meaning to pick some new car albums...
