Hi, My mac has recently developed this chip and then a crack along the left hand side? What can I do about it? Should I just go to a mac store (if there is one... I dont think there's one near me :-( ) and how much would it cost? I bought it in Ireland but now I'm living in the UK. Photos (penny for scale)

It's a known issue, and it's covered even if you're out of warranty. Get in touch with any Apple agent and they should repair it for you.
