I'm a little confused by the description Trap/Sporting - it's either one or the other - a Trap gun or a Sporting gun. There's no such thing as a combination of the two. They are two different disciplines requiring two different guns. The one in the picture looks like a sporter.

As to the value of it here in Ireland, probably not much more than the converted UK price - €550 - €650.

I think maybe before there were multi-chokes that is how guns were sold??

Sporting was part based around the choke sizes so sporting would be walked up shooting and sporting clays.

Trap i think could have been down the line so fixed chokes to suit may be quarter and full

Then i think there was Skeet which were fully open chokes or if i remember what they called improved cylinder (dont ask)

I think Sporting chokes would have been quarter and half.

Also with a sporting trap based gun you would have had a single selective trigger so you could alter your barrel firing sequence to suit the clay disipline you were shooting...near to distant or distant to near.

Beleive it or not even without multi-chokes they hit just as many clays just as often:)....i think it had something to do with which way your gun was pointing:D;)

i shoot all disciplines with a sporter from trench to skeet ,you do not require a trap gun to shoot trap or a skeet gun to shoot skeet.

get your self a gun with multi chokes and a adjustable stock if you can .

my gun is shooting 70/30 so 70 percent of my shot hits high of my aiming point .

so shooting a crossing target i never lose sight of it .

get a gun that fits and shoot it, get to know it .

dont get bogged down in crap you will hear ,perfect your technique by shooting and dry mounting .

Hello JW i dont doubt you as you seem to know your stuff but i have a gun like this and was thinking of selling as i dont clay shoot anymore.

It has probably had no more than 150 shots through it in 15 years, it was purchased in 1985 and apart from me re-blueing the barrels due to scratches it is A1...Good make you see made to last.

As regards Clays i used to be in the top classes at some shoots for 30 and 50 bird sporting,(in Sporting Gun too) sometimes used to use a Mossberg pump aswell (truth)......good days:)......I will say some of the posh blokes used to hate us.....My mate had a Baikel brand new £200 that used to get up their noses...they stopped us using Baikel cartridges they didnt like the flames coming out of the end of the gun:):) reckoned they were too loud and the council had complaints:)...made in the USSR:D........All true no crap. Can you still get Baikel cartridges??

So in good nick my gun could be worth up to 650 euro, well i paid £500 24 years back...not too bad.......Thanks Guys

Just thought i would put this back up here before i put it to bed.

Anyone interested in this O/U ?? I used this for Rough Shooting and Clays but it has hardly been used for a long time.

I recently bought other guns so doubt if this gun will be used by me now.

    Just a sensible offer......:)
