Does it work ok with other monitors?

What monitor is yours? Go to the dell website and download new graphics card drivers

he will have a hard time with that if his monitor isnt working :)

i would take check your cabling and then the pc apart again and make sure that your graphics card is plugged in correctly (unless its sitting on the motherboard)

if you look on the back of the PC - might there be another monitor cable slot (15pin d-type) that would be connected to the motherboard itsself ?

any chance you can try a different monitor ?

thats an unusual one - if you did do any damage with the ram then it should still come up to the POST and tell you there is a problem with the ram.

does the machine beep when you put it on ? or when you hit the power switch does the light flash or just come on solid (i assume it should stay solid)

you could try to take the machine apart again (unplguging from the power of course) and have a look at the wiring, maybe you unplugged the motherboard from the power supply ? have a look at the inside and see if there are any cables that appear to be unplugged where they should be plugged in.

might the port feeding a moniter be physicly damaged or its driver somehow uninstalled during your upgrade?
