Worried about possible summons.

Long story short; was out wed night, and had drunk too much. Was a scuffle outside the nghtclub and the gardai became involved. I wasn't arrested but had all my details taken. The impression I got was nothing would come of it but am still terrified. Am 19 yr old student who has never even spoken to a guard before. Is it possible for me to find out without a request under the data protection act whether the gardai wish to take this further. (or is the chance of a summons slim to none- obviously I really don't want to end up in court).

If anyone could shed some light on this I would be very grateful.

Just call into the local station where you were when your details were taken and tell the Guard on the desk what happened. Bring some id like a passport and He can check for you. If you are not on the computer he can check with the unit that was working. Don't be embarrassed - everybody makes a fool out of themselves sometime. At least you will know and can stop worrying. If you don't want to call in write a letter to the sergeant in charge with copy of your id and ask him to ring you. You are not the first and will not be the last. Last but not least ring if you are too embarrassed to do either of the above. You could ring but you will not be told anything over the phone. Get it over with and stop worrying.

livvy tells the truth. If it was only a little scuffle ya should be grand but it only takes a few minutes to call into station and ask is all. I wouldnt worry about it to be honest. No harm checking though.
