    All bicycles weigh fifty pounds. A thirty-pound bicycle needs a twenty-pound lock. A forty-pound bicycle needs a ten-pound lock. A fifty-pound bicycle doesn't need a lock.

The sound of a car door opening in front of you is similar to the sound of a gun being cocked. ~Amy Webster

One of my club, who is an accomplished mountaineer/aplinist, on his first acsent of Mahon Falls on the SKT came out with
"There must be more oxygen on the North Col (of Everest)"

before almost falling off the bike at the mountian rescue truck on the summit.

I thought it was funny anyway...

There's no question about it, the best is HG Wells':
When I see an adult on a bicycle, I do not despair for the future of the human race.

My favourite quote would have to be from Theo de Rooy.
When asked his thoughts on the Paris-Roubaix he replied, "...it's a pile of sh!t this race. It's a whole pile of sh!t. You haven't even got time to p!ss. You ride and p!ss in your pants. It's a whole pile of sh!t."
He was then asked if he would do it again to which he replied, "Of course! It's the most beautiful race in the world."

The secret to mountain biking is pretty simple. The slower you go the more likely it is you'll crash.
    Julie Furtado

    I for one...
(and with confidence that my local bike repair shop and pharmacist will bear witness to my assertion)
...would like to completely disagree with the basic assumption of this statement!

My favourite quote is that of an English cyclist, who was asked after the Rás what he thought of the Irish countryside. His reply was "It just looks like a cyclists @rse to me" :D:D

Forgot to add this one myself and I know it was said only in jest!

During the great Kelly/Roche era they appeared together on the Late late Show - when asked by Gaybo how they managed with the language barrier while living abroad, Roche replied: "Well with my broken French and Sean's broken English - we get by"

Sean Kelly was tested at PDM for V02 Max, and they told him that he had the V02 Max of an average professional, Kelly replied "Does that thing measure pain ?" "Err no.. " "Well then .."

He went out to win a classic a week later..
