Driving disqualification

Hi I've recently been disqualified from driving in the rep. of Ireland and as a result I'm obligated to hand over my Irish license to the local department of motor taxation who issued it, for the period of the disqualification. I'm planning on moving to Europe and was not intending on handing over the license, so that I could use it abroad and possibly exchange it for a native license after the residency requirement had been fulfilled. Unluckily I destroyed the license, by putting it through the bloody washing machine. Now I'm in a gray area where as far as I can tell I'm legally entitled to drive in Europe, as there's been no harmonisation of the points system between member states yet, but have nothing to show police if I'm stopped. Does anyone know if I can apply to the county council for a duplicate license while I'm disqualified or will I have to go to the likes of CA to get "novelty" version of my own license with the correct details on it. Obviously don't particularly want to hand over my real personal info and license number to a company who are self professed experts in identity fraud.

Firstly read the charter no legal advice

    Secondly
You must be joking if you think anyone here is going to advise you on committing illegal acts.

If the courts banned you from driving here then you have to have done something really serious which suggests you are a danger on the roads.

Take the ban, learn your lesson and don't make the same mistake twice.

Thanks for taking the time to read and reply, glad I gave you a little sense of self importance, but I'm not asking anyone to help me break the law, as I said my legal advice on the matter is that I'm still entitled to drive in Europe. I was put off the road for one year for drink driving. I was just over the limit having gone through a checkpoint the mourning after a night out on my way to work. I have no previous convictions and have never been in an accident. Had I been stopped in the UK, Spain or this country a year ago, before the law changed it would have only amounted to a three month suspension of my license, but that's life, I'm taking my ban and have no intention of driving in Ireland while I'm disqualified. I simply want to know if anybody has any personal experience in a similar matter and and knew how to obtain a license aboveboard in such a situation.

What's to say you wont do the same thing abroad and the same thing will happen to you.
I know the french are very strict on drink driving.

You must still be under the influence if you think that:
    a. you can drive overseas without a licence
    b. you could drive overseas whilst banned here
    c. you could get a replacement licence from the LA

As for getting a lighter punishment had it happened oversens, then maybe move overseas! Our roads might be that bit safer!

Its got nothing to do with self importance, you broke the law, its not there to be cherry picked as you feel like. The rest of us who do not drive with alcohol in our system should not have to suffer the consequences of idiots like you who do. You were disqualified for a reason.

As regards not breaking the law, read the first few lines of your own post i.e. i have to hand it over but i am not going to. I have news for you, that's breaking the law and let me tell you it will come back to bite you in the ass later when you go to renew your license
