A great price... too good that it must be a misprice.. as it's retailing between £60 to £100 in other retailers.

But bought it anyways. Worth a shot... started at £24.99 but was £21.73 when I bought it. Price of shipping to Ireland was £1.48.

I used to love this show.. but think I lost interest near the end of it!

    18 Discs... 139 episodes!

An alien expedition is boldly going where no aliens have gone before: Earth! Taking on human identities, these visitors are in for culture shock of astronomical proportions as they encounter our planet's bizarre ways. Stranger still are their new physical forms, which constantly amaze them with surprises like puberty and passion, as when the High Commander (John Lithgow) becomes hopelessly infatuated with his Earthling co-worker (Jane Curtin). With sophisticated satire and wild farce, 3RD ROCK FROM THE SUN offers a hilarious look at our world from an outrageously new point of view. This box set contains all six series:

Looks like a legitimate offer as they are having a 'Closedown' sale:
    closedownpsd2.jpg

For the next two weeks we have a very special sale. As new releases and re-packaged titles come online, deleted titles and older versions are depleted and eventually withdrawn from general sale. A quantity of these however big or small usually remain and to clear them we are now making these final copies available at knock-down prices. You need to hurry, though. They will only be available from Friday 24 April until Sunday 10 May inclusive and everything is offered on a first-come, first-served basis as we have limited quantities on all the titles featured.

There are some great bargains here: original releases of The Sweeney four-disc sets for just £5.99, Ripping Yarns (now completely deleted) at £4.99, and Thames classic sitcoms collections of Man About House and George And Mildred at £19.99 amongst many others.

Prices include recorded delivery postage and packing.
Orders will be despatched within 7 working days.

Just incase anyone didn’t get the “Closedown” reference, you’re obviously not old enough or haven’t watched enough old British television programmes yet…

So, no – we’re not actually closing down, but before we sign off and by way of an Epilogue, here are some upcoming titles..

Thanks Basquille, just ordered, but from bitter experience if something sounds too good to be true then it probably is! Fingers crossed!:)

It could have dated badly too but at that price worth a flutter

Great find - just ordered it and although the price does show as £24.99 at first, when you actually get to checkout, it displays the original bargain price mentioned earlier. Maybe they're changing the system as we speak, but Nice Wan all the same! :)

    Fingers crossed now for delivery!

Basquille, do you know do they charge your card at point of dispatch or should I expect a debit soon? It is now coming up as processing my account so it all looks good! (as is sweeny)

    No clue lindtee.

I presume they charge card on despatch (as 90% of online retailers do)..

It's definitely not a misprice as both 'The Sweeney' and 'Third Rock' were advertised in the clearout sale mentioned above.

It's almost too good to be a misprice but I really don't think it is... it's was about £15 more at The Hut last time I checked.

Anyways.. looking forward to getting it!

PS - Think I read somewhere that this boxset doesn't have the 3D glasses required to watch the two poor 3D episodes.. ah well! :D

Love that show but never heard of NetworkDVD, how reliable are they etc ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,396 ✭✭✭lindtee

Thanks Basquille. I wonder are they just the standard 3d glasses or them cinema ones that are needed (I have both-thanks to kids!). I'm hopeful too that they will arrive, although on site it says allow up to 28 days for delivey, which I don't mind as long as I get it!

Very reliable apparently from my reading on HUKD.. they're both the manufacturer and supplier (to major chains) of certain TV shows in the UK.

See the way the '3rd Rock' picture has 'Network' in the top-left... that's not a coincidence.

Cheers Basquille, now to find some time to watch the ever growing selection of box sets I have, plus watch stuff on my Sky+ which is now down to about 10% with a full planner for the rest of the week.

Money debited for both this and sweeny. Still up as processing though and have got no dispatch notice. Hope I'll have them soon-don't like when companies debit the dosh and you don't see the goods for ages!

(and would like to agree with everyone about these threads-makes it way too easy to be broke! When will I stop buying these box sets?!!!:))

Its very easy to cancel you order on sendit if it hasn't dispatched-have done it numerous times myself-especially when I order something and a few days later they have a 10% off promotion

You can always use the method of true jackassery (if you don't care how long it takes) and mark the package return to sender.

If anything, the envelope was a requirement since the box was so bulky it would need something strong to hold it without tearing.

Mine came today and the synposis booklets are very nice little reference books.

    plus the 3d glasses!:P

On a serious note tho, just got a call from AIB that an attempt was made to charge my CC to some random company on tuesday. The only place I have used out of the norm in a long while has been the sites payment, there may be some virus or phishing or such so worth while keeping an eye on your CC just to be sure

OK, I'm gonna splash out on this tomorrow. :)

I got the same from Ulster (says no) bank today. Two small payment from
clickandbuy.com and 1000 on komplett none of which were me and they refused
the komplett one and rang me to check. Fair play to them. Seriously iffy if it's
    from these guys.
