What reason did the guy give for not being able to do the installation?

    first one was
i dont like drilling the wall to get the cable inside
i said well how else do you get the cable in to the house
    i got no answer

then he came in had a cup of tee and said he thinks its to high i have to go and get a ladder

when he didnt come back i rang sky they told me i need an independent installer never herd form them again

Tommy i know a good hospital you could go to if thats any help?

in the highly unlikely event you are telling an even 10% version of the truth just be grateful you did not shake his hand or you would have no watch.

maybe he only does the latest sky dishs that are buried underground and wired to the moon.

With an independent you'll probably be charged a fee if he's able to do the job. It's not THAT expensive.

You should have gone to a kiosk or a local in the first place and supported our Irish economy and not give Sky Direct all the bobs :p

He doesnt like drilling walls, omg, what kind of installer is he, if he said he doesnt like drilling window frames Id say somethink...cant understand why Sky would turn the business away as after all all their installers are agents and not directly employed by them...

Maybe it had something to do with that word "appartment" ?

Ever since that big huge thread here, any of the lads call in and say it's an appartment, the reply they get is - And??

Also, I noticed in Skys small print just recently, we only need word of mouth from the customer that they have permission, or planning, so if an install is done, they sign off the work sheet / pda and it's their own baby after that.

Sorry to seem so blunt about it but enough time ( time = money ) has been wasted by engineers going out to jobs and finding it's an appartment etc etc

Im curious. You said you already have sky from a previous house which your paying for? Is this a re location install or a completly new install?

Seems silly if your paying for 2 subs if you already have an account?

perhaps if you are in a new apartment is that the dish will not be able to go anywhere where it can see the satellite? Can you see the sun around 11am from your balcony?
