Very confused here - hopefully someone out there can shed some light.

Lots of stories out there that this scheme is winding up and by the end of the year... the door will be closed on it, etc...

May 15th is deadline day for new applications?? what happens after that date??
will it be suspended for a while?
    Will it be closed altogether?

    My story is as follows:

    Currently in my last year of Reps 3 (Term = Feb 1st '09 -> Jan 31st '10)
I was with the Reps planner today about submitting a plan for Reps 4 (which he can do before May 15th).

Reps planner has been told that anyone currently in final year of Reps 3 and whos term will end in before the end of 09 can go ahead and submit their Reps 4 application before May 15th.

My planner then rang an advisor about my situation (Reps 3 term ending in Jan 2010), and was told not to go ahead with the plan as the department of agri (lazy shower of huairs) have not decided if a new Reps 4 application for a farmer whos Reps 3 expires in 2010 will be accepted or not !?!

Wierd, cause if your Reps 3 expires in 31/12/2009, your new reps 4 will be accepted!

Hope the above doesnt confuse anyone.

Can anyone shed a bit of light on it all?

Have invested a fair bit in the farm over the last few years and have put myself in a position where i am depending on Reps dosh to keep the farm going.....

i thought when you have a planner its he or she you should ask these questions its there job and thats why your paying them.

anything to delay us and make there job less of a work load,

there not as quick to send out the payment as they are to give bad advise in them offices neither

I would try ringing Johnstown Castle direct on (053) 63400 and ask to speak to someone in REPS policy.... they should be able to help.

I just don't think it makes sense to close REPS down. They've already cut the payment anyhow. 55% of the funding comes from the EU budget so I just don't see why they'd close it off. Maybe I'm wrong though.

Rang Johnstown Reps department and they dont have a clue either.
Yer wan told me to send it in but there is a chance that it wont be accepted.
(Wouldnt that be some waste of a grand or more!!)

They also have no idea on what the future holds for the reps schemes either!!

my reps planner basicallly told me the same thing as well. Reps 4 will be open to those in reps 3 without any issue. Hopefully that will remain the case

All the info is there, you need a registered planner to do up a plan for you and have it submitted before May 15th, which is unlikely to be possible for this year at this stage IMHO.
