The only positive I can think of having them is that I finally get to see what Id look like if i gained weight on only one side of my face.

No testical swelling yet here's hoping if that happens it will just make them look more impressive. Actually read somewhere that a guys testical swelled up so much that when the mumps had gone it had shrunk back to the size of a marble!!!

Cases have increased by 1500% since last year! Kinda scary how something can explode like that. If it was some mutation of a virus that we thought was controlled we'd be fcuked

Could be to do with the "MMR Vacc Causes Autism" crap that certain papers rolled with a few years ago, with no proof.
The link has since been disproven conclusively, but many people did not get vaccinations for their children as a result of the bad press and this has led to a resurgancy in MMR. Very scary how the press can influence people so much, with little evidence to back up claims.

Although MMR in teenagers/adults is probably more due to not having the full range of Mumps vaccinations needed for protection.

You need to go out and hug all your friends, it's better if everyone gets it at the same time, I'm not sure why, my mother told me years ago. I wasn't really listening though and it was hard to take in, I was very sick at the time. Just make sure you spread it around.

Quite right - I had the German Measles.

Nope, I've had the mumps 3 times in my life.

And had the whooping cough um, at least twice (lasted on and off for a few years).

Yes I've had the MMR, booster etc, and the whooping cough injection.
Got a booster whoopingcough and that gave me it the second time round

I got chickenpox as a 4 year old and will never forget the itchyness and managed to pick a pock and left a pock mark on my head to this day 18 years later. The man flu is a terror, the best cure is definatly a cuddle and some hot chocolate and pampering from the missus before miraculously recovering and having great sex later.

That's what I was told after I got 'em twice. That's when the "amateur medics" look at you in a funny way.

One of my housemates got it as well... late 20's

Thank god it looks like the rest of us didn't get it from him! I think I had it as a kid or i had the vaccination as a kid....

AFAIK you should have had 4 lots of MMR vaccine injections.

    These are:

    1. When you were a baby.

    2. When you were a slightly older baby.

    3. Senior Infants (age 5-6)

    4. Fifth class (age 10-12)

If you haven't had all 4 of these injections I'd strongly reccomend you went for another injection. Actually it might be better getting another injection even if you've had all 4 (sure they are free in most colleges these days anyway)
