    Planet X are coming out with a few more deals this month...

    One One Il Pompino frame reduced to £99 (£139 including fork)
    Scandal Frames at 199 (including a nice pink!)

    And possibly the best value are their model B wheels for only £99!

    nice. I'd quite like a pompino to build up into a winter fixie with full mudguards and a rack. Balloon tyres. The lot.

    It'll have to wait though, the new PX is still my priority.

    It may be worth splashing out the 140 now, and storing it till winter? Tis a very good price, and am tempted myself

    Are those model B wheels any good? I am in the market for a lighter set of wheels, and while I would like a set of Ksyrium SLs, they are slightly out of reach at the minute.

    They are what came as standard on my PX, I think they are very similar looking to Mavic wheels, no flex while climbing, and I am big as you know

    Has anyone bought these recently I know there have been a couple of people talking about it ?
    I think I will... but have a couple of silly Qns that someone might help me out with ;
    When buying wheels do they come in pairs i.e they seem to be listed as 'wheelsets' does this mean I get a front and a rear wheel for say the 99 pound listed on Planet X website when I purchase one unit ?

    I am buying for a Trek 1.5 with Sora does this mean I go for Shimano 20h/24h version(what do these numbers mean?) I asked someone earlier if the 10 speed is compatible with my bike and was told it was.

    I am presuming that the wheels are the same and I will need to take the rear chain thingy off my old wheel and put on to new wheel is this simple enough to do ?

    I need these wheels asap anyone any idea how long they would take to be delivered if oredered this morn ? Dont seem to be able to talk to them over phone

    Muchos gracias

    wheelset= 2 wheels

    20h/24h refers to the spoke count

    what you need to find out is if the freehub body on the wheel will take your current cassette (which is either 8 or 9 speed depending on how old the bike is) If it will take your cassette, then you're laughing. If not you're looking at having to upgrade your shifters, chain & cassette as well. Shifters will cost a fair bit.

    So if I have a 9 speed tiagra cassette, and the wheels are "10 speed compatible" is that a no then?

    It does look like a very tempting way to upgrade from the awful wheels that came with my BeOne Storm 2.0 (basic Alex wheels?). How would the Model B's compare to say, Mavic Aksiums? (£170!)

    EDIT: could I just get a 10 speed cassette that was compatible with my 9 speed chain, derailleur and shifters, and stick it on the new wheels?

    Recieved my wheelset this morning,came with skewers rim tape and in a very large and secure box they took 5 days to delivery to northen ireland which over a bank holiday weekend wasnt to bad,they seem to be nice and light cant wait to fit them and give them a good run out.
